                       What We Believe

	The Holy Scriptures

	We believe that the Bible consisting of the 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament, is the verbally and plenary inspired, or God-breathed Word of God, His written revelation to man, recorded by selected men without error in the original writings, and that it is, therefore, the supreme and final authority in all matters of doctrine, faith and life.  (II Timothy 3:16,17; II Peter 1:20,21; John 16:12,13; Luke 24:27,44;
Romans 15:4; I Corinthians 2:12,13,16)

	The Godhead (Trinity)

	We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16,17; 28:19; John 1:14; Acts 5:3,4; II Corinthians 13:14; I Peter 1:2)

	The Person and Work of Christ

	1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. ( Luke 1:35; John 1:1,2,14,18; 3:16-18; Acts 4:10-12; Romans 4:25; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 1:1-3)

	2.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as the vicarious, and substitutionary sacrifice by means of His shed blood on the cross; and that our redeemption is made sure by His literal physical resurrection from the dead.  (Romans 3:24,25; 5:8; Ephesians 1:7;
Hebrews 9:21'22; I Peter 1:3-5; 2:24)

	3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. (Acts 1:9-11; Romans 8:34; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:24,25; 9:24; 10:12; I John 2:1,2)

	The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

	We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement, indwells all believers in the present age, baptizes them into the body of Christ, seals them unto the day of redemption, and that it is the duty of every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit. (John 16:7-11; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13,14; 5:18)

	The Nature of Man

	We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God but in Adam's willful sin mankind fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated form God; and man is totally depraved, and , of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. ( Genesis 1:26,27; Psalm 14; Romans 1:18-32; 2:14-16; 3:9-19, 22, 23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3,12)

	Salvation

	1.  We believe that salvation is the free unmerited gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.  (John 1:12; Romans 6:23;
Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18,19; John 3:16)

	2. We believe that the atoning work of Christ is the only basis for our redemption and that entrance into the kingdom of God is by new birth alone. ( John 3:5; II Corinthians 5:17)

	The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers

	1. We believe that all believers are kept secure forever, that is, that the believer's salvation cannot be lost under any condition! (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; romans 8:38,39; I Peter 1:4,5; I John 5:10,11)

	2. We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word. Nevertheless, Christians sin even after salvation, but when they do, they lose fellowship with God (not salvation) and must confess their sins to God to be restored to fellowship with God. (I John 1:5-10; 2:1,2)

	Spiritual Life

	We believe that it is the privilege, responsibility, and commandment of all the saved to live in such a manner so that Christ is exalted as Savior and Lord.  This life is a spirit-filled life, which means, continuous submission to the control of the Holy Spirit.  We believe that separation from all religious apostasy, worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God.  (II Corinthians 6:14; 7:1;
Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 5:18; II Timothy 3:1-5; I John 2:15-17;  II John 9-11)

	Dispensationalism

	1. We believe that God has structured His plan for the ages of human history in the form of Biblical dispensations, beginning with the dispensation of Innocence with unfallen humanity and culminating with the dispensation of the Millennium on earth, having the Lord Jesus Christ ruling as Lord of Lords and King of Kings, and that the three major ages of the Mosaic Law (Exodus 19; Acts 1), the Church (Acts2-Rapture), and the Millennium (Revelation 19-20) must especially be clearly distinguished.

	2. We believe that though one and only one plan of salvation exists in every dispensation, the Word of God outlines a clear and different way of life for believers in each age. ( Ephesians 1:10; 3:2-9; Colossians 1:25-27)

Spiritual Gifts

	We believe that God the Holy Spirit in grace and apart from human merit sovereignly bestows spiritual gifts to believers in this dispensation.  Some of the permanent spiritual gifts which exist today are pastor-teacher, evangelist, administrator.  We further believe that the temporary spiritual gifts ceased with the completion of the purpose for which they were given and these were:  Apostleship, Prophecy, Speaking in Tongues, Interpreting Tongues, the gift of the Working of Miracles, and the gift of Healing.  This is not meant to deny that God may choose to heal an individual in response to the prayers of God's people, but it does recognize that this gift no longer resides in a specific individual.   ( I Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 2:20; 4:7-12;
Romans 12:4-8; Philippians 2:25-27; I Timothy 5:23)

	The Personality of Satan

	We believe that Satan is a real, created being, a fallen angel, the author of sin, and the cause of man's Fall, and further, he is the open and declared enemy of God and man and shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. We believe that when Satan fell, he retained all of his power, and he uses demons, fallen angels, the unsaved, and carnal Christians to implement his power. (Job 1:6,7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Matthew 4:2-11; 25:41; Ephesians 6:11,12; James 4:7; I peter 5:8; Revelation 20:10)

	The Church

	1. Universal Church...we believe that the Church, which is the body and bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons of this present age irrespective of their affiliation with Christian organizations. (Ephesians 1:22,23; 5:25-27; I Corinthians 12:12-14)

	2. Local Church...we believe that God's basic organizational plan for the training, worship, and ministry of believers in this dispensation is the local church, made up of born again individuals, called out to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known.
 (Acts 2:42; 14:27;20:17,28-32; I Timothy 3:1-13)

	Church Ordinances

	We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted the ordinances of water baptism and the Lord's Supper to be observed by His church until His return. These ordinances are signs only with no saving grace in them. The practice of this Church is baptism by immersion of believers. ( Matthew 28:19,20; I Corinthians 11:23-26)

	The Blessed Hope

	We believe that the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy will be the coming of the Lord Jesus in the air to receive to Himself the dead "in Christ" and believers who are alive at His coming- -otherwise known as the Rapture and Translation of the Church. (I Corinthians 15:51-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-14)

	The Tribulation

	We believe that the Rapture of the Church will be followed by the fulfillment of Israel's seventieth (70th) week, the latter half of which is the time of Jacob's trouble, the great tribulation.  ( Daniel 9:27; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:15-21;
Revelation 6:1-17)

	The Second Coming of Christ

	We believe that the great tribulation will be climaxed by the (pre-millennial) return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth to set up His Kingdom.  (Zechariah 14:4-11;
Matthew 24:15; 25:46; II Thessalonians 1:7-10; Revelation 20:6)

	The Eternal State

	We believe that the souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence, and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at His coming, when soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in the glory; but the souls of unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery until the final judgement of the Great White Throne at the close of the Millennium, when soul and body reunited shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting destruction form the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power. (Luke 16:19-26, 23:43; II Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15)
